A very rare aureus of Lucius Verus

Lucius Verus, 161-169. Aureus (Gold, 18 mm, 7.23 g, 6 h), Rome, 161-162. IMP L AVREL VERVS AVG Bare head of Lucius Verus to right, wearing aegis on his left shoulder. Rev. CONCORDIAE AVGVSTOR TR P II / COS II Marcus Aurelius, togate on the left, and Lucius Verus, togate on the right, standing facing each other and clasping their right hands; in his left hand, Marcus Aurelius holds a scroll. BMC p. 411 note †. Calicó 2123 (same dies). Cohen 49 var. (bust cuirassed). RIC 473. Very rare with the aegis. A lovely example with a fine portrait struck in high relief. Minor traces of mounting and with a very minor scratch on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
